Latgale Cognac is the most common way to ennoble cognac-style alcohol.
The recipe was invented in Latgale - the historical region of modern Latvia, which has a long tradition of home distilling.
The taste of the drink is rich, with woody notes of oak and spices.
You will need:
- 1000 ml (1 qt) of 40% (80-proof) alcohol, vodka or Neutral Grain Spirit
- This kit
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
Preparation
Sugar must first be dissolved in a small amount of alcohol.
Pour all the ingredients into the mason jar, pour in the alcohol and add the sugar, shake everything well and set aside into a dark place.
The infusion time is two weeks.
After the tincture has acquired a brownish color and a bright aroma, it must be filtered. Let it rest for 7-10 days.
